In this mobile workshop, we'll visit two brownfields and the Deschutes Brewery, winner of a 2015 Oregon Sustainability Award, all in Bend's famous Old Mill District.

First stop: Bend Iron Works. We'll meet the developer and explore this former foundry that has been converted into a thriving network of artist studios and one of Bend's best bakeries.

Second stop: Crux Fermentation Project. We'll learn how this isolated former AAMCO automobile repair shop was converted into a lively and successful local business.

Finally, we'll cross the river and learn why the Deschutes Brewery was winner of a 2015 Oregon Sustainability Award. There, we will overlook the Old Mill District, Bend's largest and most successful brownfield redevelopment, and we will learn about the many steps that have been implemented to reduce water usage and improve overall sustainability of their business.

The tour will start and finish at the Sunriver resort. Round trip bus service will be provided.
