Krauss Craft, Inc.

Krauss Craft, Inc., manufactures commercial playground equipment under the trademark Playcraft Systems. Their products are sold nationwide and internationally to municipalities, school districts and park districts.

Business Oregon helped secure Krauss Craft an Oregon Business Development Fund (OBDF) loan totaling $500,000. The loan proceeds were used to purchase two rotational molding machines and related equipment along with construction of a 30,000 square foot building. Krauss Craft has 65 employees and expects to create 40 new jobs over the next three years as a result of the $1.8 million expansion project.

This is the third OBDF loan Business Oregon has provided to Krauss Craft. In March 2000, the first OBDF loan of $56,800 was issued to finance a building expansion and purchase of powder coating equipment. The company was located in Cave Junction at that time. The loan was repaid in full. In December 2002, the second OBDF loan of $500,000 (total project $2.2 million) was issued to Krauss Craft for the purchase of the Coachman Industries property in Merlin, Oregon. That loan also was repaid in full.
