Miller Oil is a petroleum distributor that supplies Prineville and surrounding area businesses with lubricants, oils and fuel.
The provision of loan insurance by Business Oregon through the Credit Enhancement Fund (CEF) enabled Miller Oil to receive a $125,000 line of credit from U.S. Bank. Business Oregon can insure 90 percent of an increase to a financial institution's existing line of credit up to a maximum of exposure of $500,000. Loan insurance allowed Miller Oil to continue operations retaining three full-time jobs.
The strength of the semiconductor industry in Washington County, which now employs more than 17,500 workers, has led to Oregon's position as a leader in clean manufacturing helping to attract such companies as SolarWorld to the state and to its designation as the nation's 'greenest state' by Business Facilities Magazine.
Oregon workers' compensation rates have declined or remained neutral for the last 18 years, a national record.
