Oregon is committed to helping manufacturers reduce costs, increase productivity and create jobs by becoming more competitive in the global marketplace. Oregon supports and strengthens its manufacturing base through various efforts including the Oregon Manufacturing Workforce Strategy. An integral partner of Manufacturing Workforce Strategy is the Oregon Manufacturing Extension Partnership (OMEP), a not-for-profit team of manufacturing professionals.

Identifying Oregon Suppliers

In order to help traded-sector Oregon companies connect with potential clients in the state and across the globe, Business Oregon is partnering with the Pacific Northwest Defense Coalition to present the Northwest Connectory. This robust detailed buyer-supplier database profiles Oregon businesses' core competencies and enables potential customers and partners to easily find Oregon companies with the technical capabilities they need. The following programs offer technical assistance to businesses:

Government Contract Assistance Program (GCAP) assists small businesses with access to government contracts

Minority- and Women-owned Business Certification
The Office of Minority, Women and Emerging Small Business (OMWESB) is the sole certification authority in Oregon for targeted government contracts for disadvantaged businesses, minority- and woman-owned businesses, and emerging small businesses. OMWESB provides “one-stop” certification.

Business Oregon connects small business owners to local business organizations that provide contracting, consulting/counseling and/or financial services.
